Frequently asked questions about MeetJudaic
Everything you need to know before signing up.
Sign-up and account
- When does MeetJudaic open?
- Sign-up is open now: create your account, answer the quiz and add your photos, it's free. The site opens on January 1, 2027 at midnight (Paris time): from that date, profiles, likes and messaging become available to all registered members.
- Who can sign up?
- Anyone aged 18 or over, single, looking for a serious relationship and accepting our terms of use. The site is for Jewish singles and for people who share Jewish values and culture, whatever their movement or level of observance.
- How do I sign up?
- With an email address, which you confirm with a 6-digit code, then a password. You can also sign up with Google or Apple. All that's left is the quiz: city, background, languages spoken, relationship to Judaism, what you are looking for.
- Can I have more than one account?
- No. Each person can only create one account. Multiple sign-ups may lead to the suspension of all the accounts involved.
- Is a photo required?
- No, it's optional. Profiles with a photo do receive many more visits and messages, though. Each photo must show your face, and you can choose to blur it.
- Can I edit my profile after signing up?
- Yes, at any time from your account: description, photos, background, languages, quiz answers and search preferences. Every change to your bio or photos is moderated.
Free and paid options
- Is MeetJudaic free?
- Yes. Sign-up, your profile, search, likes, messages, profile visits and audio calls are free and unlimited, with no subscription.
- What is paid?
- Two optional extras: boosts, which put your profile at the top of the results for 24 hours, and flash messages, which let you write to a member without waiting for a match. They are bought individually or in packs, with no commitment.
- Do I need a bank card to sign up?
- No. No bank details are requested to sign up or to use the site. Payment is only requested if you choose to buy a boost or a flash message.
Safety and moderation
- Are profiles moderated?
- Yes. Every new or edited bio and photo is moderated immediately, and moderation stays active at all times: any member can report a profile in one tap.
- How does moderation work?
- It combines automated tools and a human team. A description or photo that breaks the rules can be rejected, an account suspended, or permanently deleted for serious breaches.
- How do I report a profile?
- From the profile or the conversation, with "Report" and the reason, or through the Contact page. Every report is reviewed by our moderation team.
- Can I block a member?
- Yes. A blocked member can no longer write to you and you no longer see their profile. You can unblock them at any time.
- What is not allowed on MeetJudaic?
- Impersonation, illegal, abusive, sexual or discriminatory content, antisemitic, racist or hateful remarks, disparaging any movement or level of observance, harassment, commercial or advertising use, and requests for money.
- What precautions should I take?
- Never share money or bank details, take time to get to know someone before meeting, choose a public place for a first date, and report any suspicious behaviour.
- Are minors allowed?
- No. The service is strictly for people aged 18 and over. An account opened by a minor is deleted as soon as it is discovered. Our commitments are detailed on the Child safety page.
Judaism and serious relationships
- Do I need to be Jewish to sign up?
- No. MeetJudaic is for Jewish singles and for everyone who shares Jewish values and culture. The quiz lets you state your situation (Jewish by birth, through your father, converted, converting, not Jewish) or keep it to yourself: everyone sees where the other stands and chooses freely.
- Which Jewish movements are represented?
- All of them: secular, traditional, Reform, Masorti (Conservative in North America), Modern Orthodox, Orthodox, Haredi and people still finding their path, Sephardi and Ashkenazi alike. You can filter profiles by relationship to Judaism, origin and languages spoken. See for example Sephardic dating or Orthodox Jewish dating.
- Are Shabbat and kashrut taken into account?
- Yes. They are covered in the compatibility quiz (keeping Shabbat, strictly kosher, kosher at home or not) and shown on the profile, along with your connection to Israel and aliyah. That way you know early on whether your everyday lives fit together.
- I converted or I'm converting: is there a place for me?
- Of course. The quiz offers "Converted" and "Converting" alongside every other answer, and you can also keep this to yourself. Every journey is respected, and no judgement is tolerated on the site.
- Is MeetJudaic only for serious relationships?
- Yes, that's what it's for. Every member states what they are looking for, and the compatibility quiz covers what matters for building a lasting home, all the way to Jewish marriage for those who plan it.
- Can I involve my family?
- Yes, and it often matters. MeetJudaic is neither an agency nor a matchmaker: when and how you talk to your loved ones is up to you, and the site lets you move at your own pace, with private photos and conversations that build step by step.
Using the site
- What is the compatibility quiz for?
- It covers the key topics of a relationship: relationship to Judaism, Shabbat, kashrut, Israel, wanting children, where to live. Every question offers "I'd rather not say". Your answers help highlight profiles that share your vision of a home.
- How do I search for profiles?
- From the "Explore" tab, using your age, distance, origin, language and relationship-to-Judaism preferences. Our city pages also introduce the community near you, for example in New York or London.
- How do likes work?
- You can like the profiles you're interested in. When the interest is mutual, it's a match, and the conversation can start in private messaging.
- Can we call each other on MeetJudaic?
- Yes, with built-in audio calls, free of charge. A call is only possible when both members agree: everyone stays in control.
- Is there an app?
- The site is designed for mobile and works in your phone's browser as well as on a computer. iOS and Android apps are in preparation.
- What is the Community space?
- A feed where members post tips, questions and experiences, comment and follow other members. Posts are moderated and can be reported.
Privacy and data
- Can everyone see my photos?
- Not if you don't want them to: your photos can stay blurred and be revealed only to the members you give access to.
- Who can see my profile?
- Only registered members see your profile: username, photos, description and city. Your personal data is never sold.
- Is information about my relationship to Judaism protected?
- Yes. Answering is optional. If you provide it, it is processed with your consent, only to suggest compatible profiles, and you can remove it at any time.
- What are my rights over my data?
- Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your data, and to object to its processing. Everything is detailed in our privacy policy.
- How do I delete my account?
- From your profile settings, or by a request through the Contact page. Deletion is permanent: your profile, photos and messages are erased.
